A nice house in the south-west of England just outside Bath and Bristol
I have a terraced house in a large village in the country just outside of Bristol and the City of Bath.
I am a second generation Intervacer, having travelled when I was younger with my mum, stepdad and sister through Intervac house exchanges.
The house has 2 double bedrooms each with cupboard and drawer space. There is an upstairs bathroom with a rainhead shower and bath.
The kitchen and dining room is an open plan space with a fridge, freezer, gas hob, with an electric fan oven and microwave. A dishwasher, washing machine and indoor and outdoor clothes drying lines. There is a kettle, toaster, slow cooker, and full range of utensils, pans and kitchen implements and herbs and spices.
I have a small sunny garden with a little pond and patio area for sitting and eating outside.
There is wifi, Amazon Prime and DVD player.
There is a garage for storing bikes. There are some local lane bike rides and I am close to the Bristol and Bath Railway path for walking and off-road cycling.
I have a National Trust membership card you can use when I go abroad.
The car is available and is a Ford Focus EcoBoost petrol.

Our Neighbourhood
Nearest Airport: Bristol - 17 miles
I live in a large village with a local shop, post office, 2 pubs, church, hairdresser, small cafe and a bakery.
There are 2 children's play parks and a village playing field.
There are lots of footpaths and lovely walks from the village and many other walks to do from nearby villages.
There are county pubs just a short drive away and a large number of restaurants, coffee shops and bars in the City of Bath or Bristol 25 minutes drive away or 40 minutes by bus. Bath is a historic Roman and Georgian spa city. Bristol is a historic maritime city. There are many museums, galleries, shops, parks and places to visit in both cities.
Other villages and small towns within easy reach are Castle Combe, Chipping Sodbury, Tetbury, Nailsworth, Lacock and Bradford on Avon with their picturesque stone cottages and their interesting and unusual shops. Many of the surrounding towns and villages have been used in period films and television series like Poldark, Bridgerton and Downton Abbey. The Kennet and Avon canal and River Avon is within easy reach for boating, walking and cycling and there is a golf course near Bath which is open for non-members. The Cotswold Water Park is within easy reach for sailing, water skiing, wind surfing and kayaking or just walking and cycling.
If you want to travel a bit further you can reach the Dorset and Devon coast, Exmoor and Dartmoor, The Forest of Dean, the mountains in South Wales, The New Forest, Oxford and London.

GB53573We had an excellent exchange experience with Katie and her lovely home. She contacted us initially and we were happy to exchange with her as Bristol/ Bath is a great area to explore. As soon as we arrived at her home, we realised we would be very happy there. It was like arriving at a holiday home: a welcome letter and edible treats to enjoy as soon as we arrived. The house was spotless and perfect for relaxation. She had thought of everything: instructions how appliances worked, with photos to make it easier; ideas of what to visit and how to get to places. It was a house which was easy to clean on our departure, and Katie had left everything necessary in one place to make things easier. Katie is extremely organised, and I have picked up several tips from her home. Regarding her stay at our home, we were very grateful to Katie for looking after our cat Milo, and he seemed to have had a wonderful time. Katie left our home in pristine condition. Katie is an experienced exchanger and I have learnt a lot from her, how to improve exchanges going forward.
