House with over 200 years history, recently refurbished (2024) with a single floor, slighltly above street level, with 3 bedrooms, 3 wcs, sleeps 5, but can eaily fit up to 3 more people (couch in the living room for two and a solarium with one single bed). A solarium with bright light, serves as a second living room, a living room and dinning room communicating with a modern fully equiped kitchen that leads into the solarium. The house has a small backyard, between walls with a wc (toilet and washbasin) and washing machine for clothes. A great roof top with a fantastic view to ria de alvor, ideal for barbecues and meals outside as well as sun bathing.
Mexilhoeira Grande is a small village that belongs to Portimão city, lays on a slope that oversees Ria de Alvor, one of the main interest points, fantastic views, ideal for walking, trekking cycling, birdwatching, kitesurfing, bathing on the salty waters of the Ria de Alvor.
The village is full of cultural events and happenings throughout the year, many different points of interest to visit, being the village center one of them, with the mais church completing is 500th anniversary in 2025. A megalitic monument, outside the village, Alcalar and the Algarve international tracking race.
There is a public indoor pool and gym, soccer pitch, cultural associations, grocery stores, butchers, small market with fish from Tuesday to Saturday, Chemist (Monday to saturday), laundry, bakeries, cafés, two restaurants, train station, buses, taxis and an public health facility running from (Monday to Friday), schools, nursery schools... and a lot more to fall in love with.
All in a small scale. Mexilhoeira has a population of over 4000 people.
Mexilhoeira belongs to the City of Portimão, but lays 10 km away from Portimão downtown (approx 50.000 inhabitants) and 10km from Lagos downtown (approx. 20.000 inhabitants). Both very lively cities with lots of things to see, restaurants and nighlife, markets and large stores, as well as fantastic beaches and inumerous activities. Portimão and Lagos are both very touristic cities, but Mexilhoeira Grande, on the other hand is a very calm and relaxing village.
