A lovely house in the Scottish Borders with great places to visit and good transport links. We have in the past exchanged cars but we are now finding it very difficult to arrange Insurance so we now think it best not to exchange vehicles.
Modern Eco House. Sleeps 8. Large garden, lovely house, could consider car swop. Close to beeches, cliff walks, forestry walks, castles and stately homes. Edinburgh and Newcastle one hour away. Edinburgh Festival in August. Museums, Art Galleries, live music, traditional Scottish events, etc. Scottish Tapestry in Galashiels. Borders Abbeys. Alnwick Castle where Harry Potter filmed.

CH53250The contact with Lorne and Maureen was very friendly and trusting right from the start, so we quickly had a very good feeling that the house swap would be great. The reception at their house was very friendly and uncomplicated. They provided a lot of information for excursions in the region and there was good information about the house, waste disposal etc. prepared. We quickly felt very comfortable and you could tell that this was not the first time they had exchanged houses.
We were also in contact during our stay and they were very helpful.
We can only thank Lorne and Maureen for a great stay in their home and for leaving our apartment so clean and tidy for our return. Feeding our gerbils was also no problem at all for them and the little updates on the well being of the pets made our children very happy. The house swap was a great success for us and encourages us to plan more.
