Lovely Apartment in Most Convenient Neighborhood of San Francisco, USA
The real San Francisco! Classic Modern apartment in central neighborhood, but on a quiet cul-de-sac. Quiet and charming, but just blocks to hip Fillmore Street, Hayes Street, and downtown. Easy access to all of San Francisco (the entire city is only 7x7 miles). Live for a few days like a San Francisco native.
The home has high windows wrapping two sides—half of the entire apartment has huge walls of glass. Yet there is total privacy and quiet. Beautiful views across San Francisco to the West provide lovely sunsets nearly every evening. Or watch the fog roll in and across the neighborhoods, yet rarely reaching us at the top of Cathedral Hill (named for the famous Saint Mary's Cathedral, 1/2 block away). Our building has only 12 apartments, and is surrounded by a park-like setting with mature trees everywhere. It's one of the city's best-kept secrets.
Modern furnishings, museum-quality collection of drawings and photographs, large art library. Three bedrooms (one is used as a library), two full baths. Enclosed terrace, working fireplace, clothes washer and dryer and all amenities. Wifi and good sound system throughout.
The kitchen was entirely renovated in 2021, with all new appliances.
Please note: Though the apartment is quite large and spacious, we have furnished it with only one Queen-size bed in the Master Bedroom, and one convertible couch that sleeps two in the Guest Room. So, depending on your situation, there is room for only a maximum of four people (two each, in two beds). Our home is not suitable for young children.
We hope you will provide simple care of TK, San Francisco's sweetest tuxedo cat.
NOTE: If you wish, exchange might also include use of our Wine Country cottage (Intervac listing US49725), an hour and fifteen minutes drive from the SF apartment.

About Our Family
We are Charles (retired art critic, college president, and art museum director) and Kitty (the retired Features Editor of a major newspaper). We now split our time between homes in San Francisco and in Sonoma County, as Kitty works on writing a book and Charles considers the metaphors presented by a small vineyard, orchard, and garden.
Lifestyle
We are very active people, both physically (we exercise most days, walk 5-6 miles daily) and socially. In the city (San Francisco), we attend art exhibition openings, theater and music events several nights each week. In the country (Sonoma County), we enjoy nature, visit the numerous famous wineries and vineyards, and re-charge our batteries among our grapevines, fruit trees and vegetable garden. We read a lot, miss too many current movies, have no TV (though we stream things online).

FR1910249Excellent hosts, beautiful & peaceful apartment in San Francisco.
Great location. We are extremely grateful to have organised an exchange with Charles and Kitty. It was a non-simultaneous swap. We are now expecting them to enjoy our Loft in Paris, France, early June 2022.
Again, Intervac has proved to be the best solution for our family travels.
Also very grateful for the excellent work done by the French Intervac representative Kristina Caillaud.
Best wishes to you all.
