Flexible with both timing and length of stay. We homeschool and with some degree of flexibility can work remotely. Mother (Heidi) worked arranging international internships for students and welcomes teens/youth who are travelling and need a place to stay. Separate bedroom for guests available. |

Fun, friendly family in historic 1907 German-built house in West Hartford. We have extra space and welcome youth/teen visits from all over the world!
We're a few minutes walk from Elizabeth Park, which has a historic rose garden, and a few minutes drive from several historic houses that are museums: those of Mark Twain, Harriet Beecher Stowe (who wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin), and Noah Webster (who wrote America's dictionary). The golden-domed Capitol building of Connecticut is nearby, as is the Connecticut River. Hartford is just between Boston and New York, and either can be reached by car in two hours. Take a hike up nearby Talcott Hill to see the Heublein Tower and get a great view of the area from the top of the tower. Around the corner from our house is a wonderful spot for delicious ice cream from a local dairy.
