Bicyclists please note! Our house is very near to the Katy Trail, a well-known hiking and bicycling trail that crosses the state of Missouri along an old railway right-of-way.

Our home is in a quiet, semi-rural neighborhood that has a forested feel, but is only 6 km from a major university town with all the shopping and cultural amenities. Located in the central US with easy highway access to many area scenic attractions.

Our city is Columbia, Missouri, the location of the University of Missouri. It is a regional shopping and medical center, with a lively cultural scene and an excellent parks/trails system. It is equidistant from the large cities of Kansas City and St. Louis, approximately a two-hour drive from each. The nearest train station is in Jefferson City, thirty miles to the south, where Amtrak can be boarded for cross-country travel.

Another hour south is the Missouri Ozarks, a wild and forested country with clear streams and many springs. We love to visit the Ozarks every summer for kayak and canoe trips and for hiking in the forest.

The houses in our neighborhood all sit on one to two acres of land, giving the area a lot of privacy and space. We are avid feeders of wild birds and always have many different species of songbirds in our back yard. Deer visit our yard on a daily basis as well.

Our house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a large sitting room and a smaller sitting room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining room. The house has a two-car garage. Automobile exchange is possible. We have a small garden where we raise vegetables and flowers.
