During the Christmas holidays, we are open to a home exchange—somewhere in the sunny south or perhaps the snowy north? |
House in Ghent in a quiet area, perfect for visiting Ghent, Brussels, Brugge, Antwerp, ...
(Our house was recently renovated—new photos will follow soon!)
Welcome to Ghent, one of the most beautiful and vibrant historic cities in Belgium. The perfect base for a great vacation, right between Bruges and Brussels, and between Amsterdam & Paris.
We live in a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Ghent, about 10 minutes by tram from the city center and around 15 minutes by bike. Who are we? We’re Koen and Lopke, with our children Bojan, Bess, Remus, and Covian, along with Wiesel the cat and Dina the dog. A big family, indeed!
Our house has four bedrooms, plus a garden unit that can actually serve as a fifth bedroom. We have a lovely little garden, a terrace, and a garage full of bicycles. Over the years, our house has been renovated and is now fully equipped with all modern comforts.
Our neighborhood is a true residential area—peaceful and quiet at night. Nearby, you’ll find supermarkets, a bakery, and some lovely parks. Hop on a bike, and you can reach just about anywhere in Ghent: the Blaarmeersen recreational area, the Bourgoyen nature reserve, the medieval Gravensteen castle, and the many charming terraces in the historic city center. There are also plenty of museums, a lively flea market on weekends, and a flower market on Sundays where you can enjoy champagne and oysters! You can explore the city by boat, on foot, or via public transport. Taste more than a hundred different Belgian beers or enjoy a delicious coffee in one of the city’s cozy cafés. Children will love the many city parks and open spaces.
From Ghent, you can easily take the train to cities like Bruges, Brussels, Amsterdam, or Paris. Feel free to ask us anything—we’re happy to help make your stay an unforgettable experience!
