About Our Family
Nina Buchanan, an educational psychologist, is an emerita professors from the University of Hawaii Hilo. Nina began traveling with Intervac in 1994 with her first exchanges to Limerick, Ireland and Barcelona, Spain. Nina and her husband have been traveling together since 1999 when we exchanged to Paris, France. Since then, we have traveled to Vienna, Barnoldswick, York, Rome, Aarhus, Aegina, Athens, Budapest, Prague, Herleheide, London, Berlin, Bethesda (US), Manhattan (US), Boston, Istanbul, Kracow, La Boule, Copenhagen, Pamplona, Cadiz, Seville, Bangkok, Bensheim, Glastonbury, Küssnacht, Dublin, Stockholm, Vancouver BC, Amsterdam, Brussels, Curitiba, Toulouse, Sydney, Nottingham, Ottawa (Canada), Polzela (Slovenia), Venice, Italy, Zadar, Croatia, and Bucharest, Romania. Sadly, Bob passed away in October of 2021 so Nina will once again be traveling alone. I love to travel and prefer exchanges to cities but are always open to new travel experiences, the longer the better!!
Lifestyle
The Big Island is an adventurer's paradise from under the ocean to the peaks of mountains that provide viewing opportunities for telescopes and visitors. Snorkel in the warm, reef fish rich spots all around the island. In the evening or early morning, hike to the ongoing lava flow to see the earth as it forms. When you come home tired, the lanai and pool provide you with a private place to relax or swim and rejuvenate.
