Welcome to our 2532 sq. ft. home, located in Corona del Mar which is a coastal community within the City of Newport Beach, California.

Our view faces South West toward the Pacific Ocean and Santa Catalina Island. After sunset you will see city lights.

Please note the pool is shared by a 51 member Neighborhood Association and heated to over 80 Fahrenheit approximately April through October. It has a men's and a women's restroom and an outdoor shower to be used to remove sand if you have just come from the beach.

Newport Beach (NB) has hosted meetings of Heads of State and is home to a large selection of iconic sporting, arts, culture, community and culinary events throughout the year. Newport Beach plays host to events such as the annual NB Sandcastle Competition, NB Christmas Boat Parade, Newport to Ensenada Yacht Race, NB Film Festival, and Taste of Newport.

We are located 20 miles from Disneyland, 45 miles from Los Angeles, and 85 miles from San Diego.

We have easy access to several airports.
The largest one is Los Angeles International (LAX-45 miles/one hour away.)
The nearest is Orange County/Santa Ana/John Wayne (SNA) which is 6 miles/15 minutes from our home = a good airport with short lines. If you must make a connection within the USA this airport should be considered.
Departure from our door to flight departure is about 2-3 hours shorter at SNA than it is from LAX. Best of all is that from SNA baggage-claim to home is less than half an hour.

Bed sizes are as follows:
The master bedroom has a California King Bed (72x84 inches);
The guest bedroom has a Queen Bed (60x80 inches); and
The sewing/bedroom has a Single Bed (33x77 inches) with a pull out/up Bed (31x74 inches) which can be separated or locked together (64 inches wide) = one single, two singles, or a shared bed.
As you can see, these all accommodate adults.

Bathrooms: The master is ensuite with 2 basins, 1 toilet, and 1 large shower; The guest is ensuite and also has a hall access with 2 basins, 1 toilet, and 1 shower over bathtub; and The half bath has hall access only with1 basin and 1 toilet.

The bedroom and bathroom arrangement offers privacy for two couples. The sewing/bed room is between the half bath and the family bath.

About the neighborhood
Our house is in a quiet neighborhood of full time residents in 51 houses. We all share a large swimming pool which is heated to over 80 Fahrenheit from April through October. .
-Most conveniences of a city are walking distance from the house. A car is useful if you plan to buy much.
-At the end of the street are two of the City of Newport Beach's best tennis courts plus two lawn bowling greens.
-Take a short walk to an upscale super market, a pharmacy, pizza parlor, and Chinese fast food.
-Almost next door is, the must see "Roger's Gardens" www.rogersgardens.com It is a very beautiful and popular retail plant nursery, with an upscale "The Farmhouse Restaurant". Locals and tourists count Roger's as a favorite.
-A little further walking distance is Newport Beach Fashion Island. It has become much more than just fashion and restaurants: Newport Beach Public Library is open every day; City Hall is architecturally interesting and has a large sculpture garden, and Free summer concerts are held on the lawn.
-Next door to the Central Library is Corona del Mar Plaza, a Boutique shopping center with another upscale grocery store, clothing stores and a spa.
-You might like to try restaurants Tommy Bahama's, Gulfstream, Bristol Farms, Flemings, Sprinkles Cupcakes, etc.
-The original Fashion Island is a large upscale outdoor shopping center where you will find Bloomingdale's, TESLA, Lincoln, LUCID, Apple, Nordstrom's, Neiman Marcus, boutique shops, motion picture theaters, fountains, and more than 40 restaurants (fast food to very nice), etc.
-Half a mile from home is Sherman Library and Gardens, a private non-profit 2.2 acre garden. Their succulent and cactus garden are a site to behold. There are also tropical plants.
-About one mile downhill from home is Corona del Mar State Beach with fire rings. September there is a Sand Castle building competition. Next to that is Little Corona Beach which is great for tide pooling = look, but don't touch the creatures.
-3.5 miles away is Crystal Cove State Beach with a 3 mile long beach and bluff top as well as many miles of wilderness trails.
-Golf Courses of different challenges are nearby.
-Learn to stand-up-paddle, kayak, or surf; Rent bicycles (electric and non-electric); Watch the UCI rowing team and Olympic athletes practice; and See dolphins, whales, and sea lions from land and from a boat excursion.
-These adventures can all be yours when you exchange with us.

Location, location, location. From reading the listing and researching, we expected a great location. The people of Sint Truiden made our stay even better than expected. From coffee and croisants a block away, the terrific Saturday market just three blocks away, the Museum of many locations, to the fabulously competitive restaurants, Sint Truiden is extraordinary. The Clerinx family home is a great blending of old and contemporary. The Clerinx Family are Survivors of the great "2022 airline misplaced my luggage" for the entire duration of our exchange. Thanks for the adventure.

We were wine grape growers. Retirement allows us the time to travel to our hearts desire.
We love pets and have had a dog and several cats who we dearly miss. Caring for your pets will be a pleasure.
We usually travel alone. Sometimes we like to include a family member or close friends to join us on our exchanges. We always ask in advance for permission from our exchange partner.
D. has allergies to some scents so we respectfully request that our exchange partners do not burn incense or scented candles, use scented laundry products (we provide all laundry products), smoke - even outside the house (we have a wood deck and smokers bring their smoke inside), or do anything else inside the house or cars which may negatively affect her. This would include, no vaping, please.
