House in Sandviken, Sweden

We are very proud of our home! The location, the view and the privacy is fantastic!
The house was build by my grandfather in 1932 but restored in 2002 and another bedroom was attached in 2015. It is quite small - three bedrooms and a kitchen and living room that are joined together in an open planning. Big windows are facing the lake. You get a great feeling of being close to the nature.
The house is well equipped with flat screen TV, computer and high-speed Internet.
We also have a second house (guest house) right next to the main house. It's equipped with bathroom, a small kitchen and four beds (the photos with the white/red interior are from the second house). Perfect for older children or if you like to bring friends! Both houses are at your disposal.
The lake is 20 meters from the house, we have our own little jetty and a row boat. You can fish from the boat or from the jetty. By the lake we have a sauna, a fire-heated hot-tub and a pavilion.
In the summer we have a large trampoline by the house. There are swings and a slide on the beach. And the whole beach is like a huge sandbox.
In the garden we grow raspberries and rhubarbs, you can pick blueberries in the forest close by.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Arlanda, Stockholm - 1 h 45 min

Our home is situated 200 km northwest of Stockholm (1 h 45 min from Arlanda airport), 22 km west of Gävle and 5 km south of Sandviken.
Our neighbourhood is a mix of summer cottages and permanent houses. If you like walking or running you can access a trail of 4.4 km just 300 meters from the house. There are two public beaches in the area.
Sandviken is a small town with all the facilities you need i.e. restaurants and shops. Sandviken is 20 minutes bike-ride away - if you like a wider variety Gävle is only 25 minutes (by car) away. Between Sandviken and Gävle there's a large shopping area, with an IKEA shop!
The location is ideal for excursions to Stockholm, Dalarna or just to explore the surroundings, you might want to pet the moose in the nearby moose-park.
In the winter there are several places for skiing both downhill and cross country. In the summer it's quite nice to just stay on our beach...
