Centrally located townhouse with secluded garden.

We live in a nice townhouse from the 50´s with a secluded garden. It is one of Växjös famous house of character, known as "The Danish Houses" as it was designed by a famous danish architect. The city center is just a short walk away. The house is a two story building with a kitchen and living area on the ground floor and bedrooms, an office, bathroom and a small living room on the first floor. We bought the house in August 2014 and we are successively and carefully restoring the property as we want to keep it as close to it´s origin as possible.
The house is fully equipped for everyday living; TV, wifi, washing machine, dryer, dish washer etc. Extra beds are available. We have at least two bikes available and access to our Volvo XC60 can be discussed. The neighbours are nice and the area quite peaceful.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Småland Airport - 5 km

The neighborhood consists of both townhouses and apartment building so the area is mixed. There is a small grocery store close by and it´s almost always open. Växjö is the main town in the Småland region with 75000 inhabitants in the municipality. It is the city closest to where the famous Carl von Linné was born and went to school. The university is named after him, Linnaeus University. The beautiful Dome is from the late 12th century and is a must to visit.

Växjö has many good restaurants, some of them even occurs in the White guide. When in Sweden you have to take a "fika" which means that you have a cup of coffee and a nice chat with a friend. You can ask any swede if they want to take a "fika" and they won´t turn you down!
There are plenty of recreation areas and the nearby lake, Helgasjön, has many fine beaches. In addition, in the middle of the town there is a small lake in which you can swim, go fishing and it also offers a very nice promenade with a spectacular Art Site. You can easily go by bike everywhere. Sweden is famous for it´s "Allemansrätt", the Right of Public Access, which means that you legally can walk on someone elses land as long as you don´t destroy anything or disturb the animals. Sweden is a very green and clean country. For more information please se

There are very good train connections to Malmö / Copenhagen region so a day trip to Louisiana Art Museum in Humlebaek is "just around the corner". One easily can drive to the east and west coasts for a day.

Usually we fly from Kastrup in Denmark but from/to Småland Airport just outside Växjö you can fly to/from Amsterdam, Berlin, Skopje, Tuzla, Gdansk, Alicante, Dusseldorf and some other places Also, the airports in Kalmar, Kristianstad, Jönköping and Halmstad is just 1-1,5 h away by car/train.

We love music, food and traveling so we spend a lot of time in the kitchen, listening to music and planning our coming moves around the globe. In our spare time: Åsa is a workout instructor for Friskis & Svettis, the famous Swedish gympa organisation. Stefan is a "rock star in disguise" as earlier stated. We have a very laid back attitude towards gardening and our opinion is that a garden must be used not just looked after.
We really like warm places and tries to keep a distance to snow.
