Our house was built in the 1950’s and was fully renovated last year. We mooved in it in March 2023.
It has 3 storeys (ground floor, 1st floor and attic) and a closed garden.
At the ground floor are located the kitchen, the living room and the bathroom. This floor leads directly to the garden, where you can enjoy eating in the open air in summertime and where children can play freely on the grass.
At the 1st floor are located the children’s and parents’ rooms and the 2nd bathroom + separate toilets.
And in the attic, you will find a study room, a guest room and another bathroom with a magnificient view on the bay of Brest.
Rooms on the garden side of the house also have a view over the sea.
There is also a cellar.

Our Neighbourhood
Nearest Airport: Brest Guipavas - 15 min from our home
We live in the very city of Brest, in a part of it called Saint-Marc, which is very residential and quiet. Our street being a one-way street, we don’t have much traffic. And our neighbours are very peaceful people too!
So if you happen to spend a while in our house, you shouldn’t be bothered by the noise.
Brest is a city of about 150.000 inhabitants, comprising around 300.000 people with the whole agglomeration. It’s the second city of Brittany (Bretagne in French), which is the westernmost region of France. This place has much to offer, thanks to its cultural heritage and its beautiful geography.
If you want to know more about Brittany, you can have a look at this site: http://www.brittanytourism.com/
There is a lot to do and discover as far as cultural activities, museums, dancing, singing and eating are concerned.
As far as nature is concerned, Brest is set in a beautiful bay and is surrounded by beaches, cliffs, green hills and landscapes.

About Our Family
We are a family of 4: Tatjana, 52, Gilles, 58, Ael 16 and Emil 14.
Tatjana teaches French, Literature, Drama and Communication to High School students and is also specialised in teaching French to foreigners.
Gilles works for a computer services company as a project manager.
Ael is at high school and Emil is going to secondary school . They both seem very happy there. They are very sportive boys (wind surfing, swimming, jogging, kung fu and scuba diving) and like practicing some music instruments (Irish flute and Scottish bagpipes while Emil plays piano).
Discovering other cultures and regions is our biggest passion. That’s why we spend our free time in travelling all around the world, the most of the time with our boys !
We have made 12 successful exchanges and are really enjoying this type of sustainable travelling.
Lifestyle
We're passionate about travel and all the world's cultures. We've loved discovering them with our boys since they were very young, either by the means of learning languages or by travelling, watching movies, going to the theatre, playing and listening to music or even reading.
Practising sports also belongs to our favourite activities : running, swimming and yoga mainly for adults and windsurfing, running and swimming for our boys. Every week we try to explore some new places in Brittany. And in Summer, we try and take advantage of the beaches that are next to Brest to have a swim in the ocean.
As a leisure we also take care of our garden, trying to keep the plants and trees under minimal control.
We don’t have pets, even though we like animals !
We’ve travelled a lot around Europe (Western, Southern, Northern, Central Europe and Balkans mainly) and in other parts of the world (Canada, USA, Russia, Japan, Mexico, Mauritius, New Zealand, Thailand, Vietnam, Senegal, Tunisia, Peru,...).
Swipping houses through Intervac provides us a great way to discover a place extensively, while being comfortable enough to attend some basic needs.
We have swapped houses 12 times through Intervac (Denmark, Canada, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Spain,Quebec, England, Austria, Switzerland, etc). It was always a great experience and we're ready to renew this adventure.
